Packs, troops and crews in the Buckskin Council
can renew their unit charters online. About a dozen units did
this in 2009 and their response has been overwhelmingly positive
about the renewal process. They also liked that the information
was checked for completeness when it was submitted, so delays
caused when charter information is not complete would be
avoided. The information must still be printed along with
signatures and fee information and submitted to the council
office. The charter renewal packets contain instructions in how
Internet Rechartering works and you may contact the Council
Registrar for an access code for the unit to use. Although
multiple scouters are involved with rechartering, one person in
the unit should be designated to use the access code and enter
the rechartering information. The traditional, paper-based
renewal process can still be used.
Any scouter can get an idea of how Internet
Rechartering works by taking the on-line tutorial. You won’t
need a unit access code for just taking the tutorial. You can
link to either Internet Rechartering or the Internet
Rechartering tutorial from the Buckskin Council website,
www.buckskin.org.
