Cub Scout Day Camp - One Hundred Years of Buckskin Council!

It’s a fun and exciting camp experience!  Cub Scout day camp gets Cub Scouts outside doing activities with friends and it’s the first step in the camping progression.  Scouts spend each day visiting a variety of program stations. At the end of the day they return home. It’s a place for Cub Scouts to test themselves, participate in new activities, make new friends and learn something along the way and have a TON OF FUN.

Cub Scout day camps are organized by the Buckskin Council and are conducted under certified leadership at an approved site and during daylight or early evening hours.  Certification of the day camp director and program director is provided through the National Camping School.  Day camp programs include nature, sports, aquatics, and crafts. Den and pack leaders make up the nucleus of the day camp staff. Day Camp is fun and adventure with a purpose!

Day Camp provides a time of programing and activities not otherwise accessible to this age group. Different camps throughout the summer provide variations in activities based on the resources available, so no one week is alike!

Cub Scouts participate in many varied activities including, archery, BB-guns, sling shots, field sports, nature, arts and crafts, Scout skills, and a variety of other events. It’s a fun-filled time of challenging Cub Scout activities, exciting adventures and new friendships.  All areas (especially range activities) place a special emphasis on safety procedures.  Each camp offers action packed days filled with fun, learning, adventure, and more!  Day Camp is open to all Cub Scouts who will be going into 1st through 5th grades in Fall 2019.  Those entering 1st grade must be accompanied by an adult partner.

Parents, grandparents, and other adult volunteers are always welcome to be part of the day camp. All volunteers need to complete youth protection training.  A BSA Annual Health & Medical Record, Parts A & B is also required.

So, grab your sunglasses, and sun screen and join the party.  No matter what camp you choose, you can be sure it will be loaded with an awesome experience.  Participants receive a t-shirt and patch. Advancements offered at day camp supplements the exciting program offered by the unit. Registration opens soon. The registration fee ($55.00) includes a patch, t-shirt, and program supplies.

Remember, you may go to any camp and even more than one!  Summer is your time to be in the great outdoors!

Applications for Camp Scholarships are due April 25th, 2019.
