Popcorn Sales Training with Michael Beck

To: All Council Members, Unit Leaders, Parents, and Volunteers

From: Michael Beck, Special Advisor for Camp Masters Popcorn

Subject: Would You Like To Raise All The Money You Need For Your Scouts With Only One Fundraiser?  I Can Show You How!

If I were to give your Pack or Troop $3,000 in cash, would you be able to use it? What would you use it for?

I can give you the information necessary to not only earn that amount but much more!

What if I could show you how to earn that money in ONE Weekend?

In addition, I can show you how to pass on that information to your scouts in such a way that it gives them skills that you’ve only before witnessed in professional adults, to set their own goals and achieve a level of success that even they didn’t believe they could attain.

My name is Michael Beck and I am a dad of two scouts. I am also the creator of a program that has helped many packs and troops stop worrying about funds and concentrate more on the FUN of scouting. This program is responsible for helping the Cradle of Liberty Council go from $287,000 in fundraising sales to over 1.3 million in just 2 years and has enabled Pack and Troop 111 to go from $1,500 in sales in 2001 to over $80,000 in sales and become the highest selling unit in the country for three years in a row with over $30,000 per year to spend on the boys for new equipment, trips, summer camp, and community service projects. As sensational as these numbers seem, they are actual figures based upon proven results.

No matter what you currently do as a fundraising event, you will be able to take away something from the information I present.  You will be able to pass on to your scouts the abilities necessary to develop better communication and public speaking skills, a greater degree of self-confidence, higher self-esteem, and the ability to earn their own way.

Each year I have agreed to do a limited number of presentations within the Camp Master councils in an attempt to assist and try to help every unit, every pack and troop, that would like to stop fundraising every month and get back to leading the scouts through their training. Most importantly, I would like to invite each and every one of you to attend.

I hope to see you there.

Michael Beck

What have other units reported?

We were all a bit leery of doing the Show and Sell this year, but I put in the order and we ran with it. I am very excited to tell you that in three Show and Sell dates we have sold $4313.51!!! Our entire Pack last year only did Take Orders, and our grand total was $2774. This looks to be a fantastic year for popcorn! Thanks for all of your help in making this a really great popcorn season for us!   - Tanya, Columbia, SC (First year with CAMP MASTERS)

Our unit was extremely successful this year with our popcorn fundraiser. We made more than 5x ($9,155) the amount we sold last year and have totally funded our program with lots of money spare for extra activities. I have to say that bringing in Michael Beck to give me the courage and instructions on how to do the Show and Sells was the most beneficial thing you could have done. …And with that confidence I was able to convince other parents that their kids COULD do it. By the end of the show and sells the "shy" kids were approaching strangers. It really was an amazing transformation to watch. The self-esteem, confidence and public speaking that was learned by our Cub Scouts was invaluable. And that is really what I consider the most valuable thing we got out of our popcorn sale this year and why we are looking forward to next year. - Jessica C. Pack 437 Southeast Louisiana Council (First year with CAMP MASTERS

“I was the only one from my district to attend Mike Beck's excellent presentation.  Our Pack sold over $10,570 this year, the first time ever to reach the $10,000 mark.” -  “And, my son who is not naturally very out-going is a lot more relaxed in public now.  They both come home feeling very good every time we go out to sell.  It's a great confidence builder.” - Bob Mueller Pack 532, Choptank District

I will tell you that the show and sale is going very well. My son's pack sold more this weekend on Saturday then the entire pack did last year. They sold $4400!!! This was our entire order!!!!! -  David Sorrell Scout Executive

The short version is:  "The system works, if you do it all just as Mr. Beck suggests." – “The longer version is:  "I like the system because it can be applied to any fundraiser.”  - Jim Ford Scoutmaster, Troop 478 Salisbury MD
