Takhonek Lodge ICE and AIA Weekend to be held at Camp Arrowhead

The 2019 AIA & ICE weekend will take place March 15-17 at Camp Arrowhead in Ona, WV. This event is open to all our Lodge membership, especially to those interested in the Native American culture with in our Council borders. This is truly a Fun weekend filled of fellowship, craftsmanship, and help all our members develop a greater understanding of the Order of the Arrow.

This event will begin with registration at the dining hall, on Friday night from 6-7:30 and end on Sunday just before noon. Meals are provided beginning with Friday Night cracker barrel and ending with Sunday Morning breakfast. We plan to house everyone in attendance in one of the cabins, so there is no need to bring a tent. There will be bathrooms open, but at this time we do not think the bath house will be open, but each individual will need to bring all sleeping gear, as nothing is provided. Our activities will be spread over the camp so pack with the weather in mind.

Just to give you a idea of some of our activities we plan to offer at this event, how to make beef jerky, different beading styles, drumming, singing, bustle construction, eastern woodlands clothing, guestoweh (headdress), and more.

The cost for this will be $15 and everyone is asked to register online before 11:59 pm on March 13, 2019. After this deadline the registration fee will raise to $20 at the door. This fee includes one of the event flaps, and others will be offered at the trading post after registration closes.
