Cub Scout Day Camps 2008
“Olympics”

WHAT IS CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP?

Cub Scout Day Camp provides an opportunity for continuing the Cub Scout program during the summer. The camp program is designed to meet the needs and interests of Cubs and Webelos, so preparation for achievements, electives and activity badges can be continuous. Many of the activities will apply for credit in the advancement program.

Cub Scout Day Camp is a fun adventure for your boy in the outdoors under the supervision of trained leadership carried on during the daytime at local district day camp sites. The Buckskin Council is enthusiastic about Cub Scout Day Camp and urges you and your den to register for this activity.

WHO CAN COME?

All Tiger Cubs, Bobcats, Wolves, Bears and Webelos are welcome at Cub Scout Day Camp. All Cubs/Webelos attending must be registered with the Boy Scouts of America.

Once in camp, all boys work on achievements geared for their rank in September. That is, a rising 2nd grader who has been a Tiger Cub is now considered a Wolf and will work toward his Bobcat and Wolf rank.
It is important to remember that Tiger Cubs are registered in Scouting as part of a team with an adult partner. Adult partners are expected to attend day camp with Tiger Cubs.

ADVANCEMENT

Many achievements and elective activities are planned for Wolf and Bear Cubs. The Webelos Program is geared toward different activity pins. Each Cub Scout will be given a list of these accomplishments at the conclusion of camp on Friday so he can easily locate and check them off in his book.

CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP STAFF

The Camp Administrator, Camp Director and Program Director have been certified by the National Council, Boy Scouts of America. An enthusiastic, well-trained, staff of volunteers leads the activity stations.

ADULT LEADERSHIP

Day Camp Den Leaders must be registered Scouters, or be a parent or guardian, 21 years of age or older. Leaders accompany boys in all program activities and are responsible for the supervision and discipline of the boys at all times.

There is no registration fee for leaders, but leaders must fill out a Day Camp Health Information & Registration Form. T-Shirts are available and recommended for leaders. They are $7.00 each through XL, $8.00 for XXL and XXXL.

A tag-a-long program for the children of leaders in camp may be provided at your camp. Check with your Cubmaster or Day Camp Director for information.
