Pot Pourer

A great way to keep hands from burning and, on a backpacking trip, easily make at the campsite, the returned to nature when your break camp.

Supplies:

  • Forked twig. Get it from the ground, never cut a live branch for use.

Procedure (refer to picture for examples):

  • Fit the twig onto the pot (as shown)..
  • Mark spots where notches will be cut:.
    • Top of the twig, before the fork, where the handle touches the twig
    • Two spots on the branches of the fork, where the twig touches the pot. This will be on the underside of the twig.
    • Using a sharp Scout knife, cut notches into the twig at the marks.

Usage:

  • Slide the twig through the handle as shown..
  • Tilt and pour. Depending on weight and amount of tilt, support pot on the bottom with a hand (gloved if necessary)..
