Supplemental Training Modules

Supplemental training modules are designed to provide orientation beyond the basic training offered in New Leader Essentials and leader-specific training. Each module is a unit of training that can be used as an outline for a group, for personal coaching, or for self-study. Most of the outlines should require about an hour to complete. Consider each unit of study to be an introduction to the subject. Scouters are welcome to download subjects that are of interest for personal or unit use. There are no training credits associated with the completion of these units of study. Additional training units are being developed and will be continually added to this site.

Boy Scout Advancement and Awards

Boy Scouting provides a series of surmountable obstacles and steps in overcoming them through the advancement method. The Boy Scout plans his advancement and progresses at his own pace as he meets each challenge. The Boy Scout is rewarded for each achievement, which helps him gain self-confidence. The steps in the advancement system help a Boy Scout grow in self-reliance and in the ability to help others.

It includes all the rank requirements, alternate requirements for Scouts with disabilities, all of the merit badge requirements, and what they call "special opportunities" - World Conservation award, Totin' Chip,

Online Learning Center

The BSA Online Learning Center provides a variety of materials, from quick references to complete courses, all designed to help our members improve leadership skills and deliver a quality program.

Joining Boy Scouts -- Whether you are transitioning from a Cub Scout Pack or are getting involved in Scouting for the first time, this guide is intended to briefly answer many common questions about Boy Scouting.

Merit Badge College

Once again Southern WV Community and Technical College will be hosting and supporting the Chief Cornstalk District Merit Badge College. The Chief Cornstalk District would like to thank them for their continued support.

We plan to offer a greater variety of merit badges than last year some additions include, Photography, Dentistry, and Nuclear Science. Also, ALL scouts will be made aware of the time registration is made open, including those from other councils, so get your Pre-registration in as soon as it opens!!!
