BOY TALKS
TO PROMOTE ATTENDANCE TO ROUND-UP

August 15- September 20

To be held during school hours before the Round-up event.

Purpose: To excite and enthuse boys to attend the Round-up event and to inform the boys what to bring to the event.

Preparation: Ask principal for a few minutes to meet with all boys in the first through fifth grades by going from classroom to classroom.

Who: Uniformed Scouter(s) with your District Executive that is very familiar with the school (and vice versa) and the specific program(s) of the pack(s).

SCHOOL AGENDA

1. SHOW APPROPRIATE VIDEO – Showing Tiger Cubs Yeah! to first grade, Cub Scout Jam to second and third grades, and Webelos WOW! To fourth and fifth grades will help explain the specific program designed for each grade level. (Song or cheer if video is not available.)

1. Have a Cub Scout or Webelos Scout tell the class what they enjoy about Cub Scouting.
2. Share examples of den and pack activities.

1. Cub Scout pinewood derby races
2. Pack themes for coming year
3. Have school play the Garfield Principal Announcement on school P.A. system

3. WHAT TO BRING TO THE ROUND-UP EVENT

1. Must have a “ticket” – their parent(s)
2. Registration fee
3. Need both registration fee and parent(s) to register

4. DISTRIBUTE INFORMATION FLIERS

5. SUMMARY

Finish up presentation with an enthusiastic statement on Cub Scout pack fun themes scheduled in the next three months.
