Good Turn For America

What is Good Turn for America? Good turn for America is a national call to
service by the Boy Scouts of America to ensure adequate food and shelter and to
develop good health habits in our nation. To address these issues, we are
collaborating with some of the most respected service organizations in the
nation; the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, and Habitat for Humanity
International, to provide volunteer opportunities for youth and adults to fight
hunger, provide shelter, and teach the habits of healthy living. The Boy Scouts
of America has a decades-long history of building better young men and women
through service learning. To highlight this tradition of service, Good Turn for
America will be the Boy Scouts of America national “Good Turn” from 2004 through
the BSA’s 100th. Anniversary in 2010.
As part of this national service initiative, the Boy Scouts of America will
track the hours that volunteers, members, participants, and partner
organizations contribute to the community. The Boy Scouts of America will
announce these national totals each February as part of its anniversary
celebration.
