The Commissioner PageThe Commissioner Service of the Boy Scouts of America is a core of dedicated volunteer Scouters whose primary purpose is to provide service and support to Pack, Troop, Team, Venture, Post, Ship, and other Scout Leaders. This service and support is provided to help give the unit leader extra resources to assure that he or she is able to deliver the promise of Scouting to individual youth members.
Commissioners are district and council leaders who help Scout units succeed. They coach and consult with adult leaders of Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, and Venturing crews. Commissioners help maintain the standards of the Boy Scouts of America. They also oversee the unit charter renewal plan so that each unit reregisters on time with an optimum number of youth and adult members.
