COUNCIL DISTRICT TRAINING NEWS

A healthy district committee, with sufficient resources to support all functions, is essential to provide adequate support to Scouting units. This training module discusses the importance of a fully staffed committee, including a game that simulates the task of locating, recruiting, and retaining committee members to build a healthy committee.

This fun and interactive training serves as a vital tool for new troop committee members as well as for veterans. The mission of the Troop Committee Challenge training is to help each troop committee work as a team to improve the Scouting experience for adult and youth members. It helps build the commitment of individual members as well as cultivates a better troop committee team.

Buckskin Council (NYLT) Junior Leader Training

July 18-23, 2009 at Camp Chief Logan, a week long outdoor training experience for youth members in troops utilizing the patrol method. The age limit for (NYLT) is 12 years old and older and there is no limit on the number of patrol leaders a troop can send to the training.

POW WOW 2009 

All aboard for the fun and excitement of hands on training in the area of games, crafts, Webelos, den chiefs, skits and songs, pizzazz, scouting on the internet and much more.  Be a part of the fun and fellowship with Cub, Boy Scout, and Venture leaders and parents throughout the Council on  Saturday, October 10, 2009.  Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and closing will be at 4:00 p.m.  Don’t be left out.  This is an excellent training opportunity for Cubmasters, Den Leaders, Webelos Leaders, Crew Leaders, Scoutmasters and Committee Members.  Pre-registration will begin on  August 1, 2009.  Registration forms will be available in the Council Courier, at the Council Office, Roundtables, and from District Executives.  Don’t miss out on this big Cub Scout Extravaganza!
