Camp Arrowhead
October 17, 2026 Noon to 4:00 pm
Join with your fellow scouts to “Launch Into Scouting” as we celebrate the start of a new program year. New scouts joining will receive a rocket kit at their signup event. Returning scouts can purchase a rocket kit at the event for $4.00. We will have rocket building time so you can assemble your rocket. Then it’s on to the launch pad where we will see how high your rocket can fly.
BUT THERE IS MORE! In addition to the rocket launch, we will deliver on what you were told at school or the signup event. You will have a chance to do some BB Shooting and Archery. You want to fish? Bring your pole and bait to try to catch the big one. (We do catch and release at camp, thank you.) There will be some more activities for you to enjoy as you visit Camp Arrowhead
SPECIAL MORNING ACTIVITY - Come to camp early on Saturday and enjoy the Fall Hike on the Kanawha Trace. This annual event gives scouts, their families and those in the community to spend some time walking this National Recognized trail. This year we will have a Living History Interpreter, Doug Wood, that will offer up some history of the area as well as the character he will be portraying. He will be portraying Guyasuta who was a viceroy appointed by the 6-Nations Confederated Iroquois Tribes to oversee their vast land claims in the Ohio Valley.
There is a suggested fee of $.50 per person. A collectable patch will also be available. Proceeds from the fee and patch sales go to support trail maintenance. Groups head out from Meachem Lodge beginning about 8:15am. The last group will head out 11:00am. You will be back in time to go out and grab some lunch (or bring lunch with you) and then enjoy the fun of Adventure Day.
This is a no fee event. Scouts and their families are welcome to come and enjoy Camp Arrowhead. Come and stay as long as you like. The event will begin at noon and end at 4:00pm. Although there is no fee to attend this event, we do ask that you pre-register so we may have an idea as to how many will be attending. Walk-ins are welcome.
Things to remember:
- Bring a friend!
- Be sure to come prepared for the weather.
- Wear closed toe shoes.
- Bring lunch and the "Six Cub Scout Essentials" (filled water bottle, food, flashlight, first aid kit, raincoat/jacket/hat, whistle)
