Commissioners are district and council leaders who help units succeed. They coach and consult with adult leaders of Cub Scout packs, Scout troops and Venturing crews. Commissioners help maintain the standards of the Scouting America.
Unit commissioners focus on the following four primary areas:
1. Support unit growth.
2. Contacting units and capturing their strengths and needs.
3. Linking unit needs to district operating committee resources.
4. Supporting timely charter renewal.
