Shawnee District is hosting a hike on Saturday, May 2nd, at McClintic Wildlife Management Area outside of Point Pleasant to allow Scouts another opportunity to work on rank requirements. The hike begins at Noon and runs until 3:00 pm.
The structured 2-mile hike will feature stations for Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, and 1st Class Scouts to use the EDGE method to mentor the previous ranks through the set requirements. Scouts and Tenderfoot Scouts will work on Outdoor Code requirements at the first station. The second station will focus on Tenderfoot 5a-5d. The third and fourth stations will be for animal identification for Second Class and First Class Scouts respectively.
Cub Scouts will have a modified 1-mile hike to learn about local flora and fauna and practice species identification.
